"My time at IPSB has given me confidence in myself, techniques to aid me and my clients from getting injured, and immeasurable inspiration and support from the staff, teachers and students that will last throughout my life"
— Alumni student
THE IPSB-STYLE MASSAGE IS DERIVED FROM THE ANCIENT ART FORM KNOWN AS TAI CHI CHAUN.
Tai Chi Chuan is often studied for its defense training, and its health benefits including breathing, movement and meditation. At IPSB, Tai Chi forms the core of our body mechanics training, to ensure our students take care of their bodies and have longevity in their careers.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT SCHOOL
Many of our students find their way to our school for the first time based on passionate recommendations from alumni students. Others attend an Open House and quickly grasp the special family-community environment and massage style that only IPSB offers. The IPSB Style of massage is known around the world as being an exceptional massage to receive, and notably, also to give, as it is founded in the graceful, flowing art-form of Tai Chi. The IPSB Style of massage sets our therapists apart in the industry, with many employers specifically seeking IPSB-trained practitioners owing to their sound body mechanics, highly-effective massage techniques, and clients who return - again and again. Come experience the magic of IPSB for yourself, at one of our Open House events.
Our mission is to train sensitive, self-aware bodyworkers who use creativity and self-knowledge to transform basic skills into an artistic form that deeply touches the lives of others.

"I came to this school in my 40's looking for a career change. I'm a mother of 3 and no longer wanted to work in the entertainment industry. I was looking for something different. Coming to the Open House, and seeing the Tai Chi, it spoke to me, and I felt like I was home. When I meet with new students, I speak from experience, of the truly special experience IPSB offers".

PROGRAMS & WORKSHOPS
TO SUIT YOUR NEEDS
All programs at IPSB at Life Energy Institute are designed to meet the requirements for professional practice as determined by the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) or the American Polarity Therapy Association (APTA).
To realize your dreams of becoming a successful, thriving massage therapist or bodywork practitioner, we understand the significance of choosing a school and a schedule that meets your needs.
We welcome new program students who are changing careers as well as transfer students looking to complete their training. We also offer individual workshop classes for practitioners from a variety of backgrounds (including massage, craniosacral/polarity therapy, yoga, acupuncture, nursing etc.) seeking CEU’s or special training to up-level their skills.
We are regularly adding new exciting class offerings with instructors who are leading their fields. Chat with one of our Student Services Specialists about finding the right program or class for your needs. It is our pleasure to support you on the path to fulfilling your dreams.
Most classes and programs that we offer are approved for continuing education by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs, Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education, the State of California Board of Acupuncturists and the State of California Board of Nurses. Classes are also approved nationally for massage therapists and bodyworkers via the NCBTMB and nationally for acupuncturists via the NCCAOM.
We can still remember our first contact with Eileen Hamsa Henry, the original owner of IPSB back in the mid ‘80’s. It was a very fresh moment in the burgeoning bodywork healing arts field. It was refreshing to find people with similar values. From the beginning my relationship with IPSB and its community was always rewarding. IPSB would become our sister school and through the years we would symbiotically evolve and grow in our ability to serve our community.
We always thought that IPSB was an oasis in the Southern California urban land-scape. This school helped people to reconnect with their mind body and souls. It was as Club Med once professed to be the antidote to civilized living. IPSB helped people come back to themselves and find health and well being in a region where it is easy to disconnect and get lost in the concrete jungle.
IPSB was the first, and is the longest standing school/center of mind body health wisdom wrapped in a bodywork healing modality approach. It has been nurturing the mind body and soul of the bodywork entrepreneur and community of people looking to add balance back into life for close to 40 years.
Never before has its mission been more needed than today. It is so easy to get lost in our world and IPSB has a way of helping one come back home to their true nature.
This is why, in 2016 we graciously took on the stewardship. We are dedicated to honoring the legacy and intentionality of this great school, under our new banner of IPSB at Life Energy Institute. Our objective is to nurture the IPSB massage meth-od and create a way to have a strong and secure place in our culture/healthcare landscape so it can continue with its mission in contemporary times. We look forward to the growth and evolution of our journey together and we remain humble and grateful for all those who have held IPSB in the past to bring it to this point. We honor the natural continuity of our journey together.
Thank you IPSB community for all these years –
the best is yet to come!

A NOTE FROM THE OWNERS
Our unique bodywork programs open the door to increased awareness of one’s own body, heart and mind. Our programs approach the body holistically, revealing how our unique perspectives and experiences manifest in our physical form. This exploration gives rise to growth and transformation that is personal and expansive.
Our classes provide a safe, supportive, compassionate environment where authenticity and individual excellence are inspired by the learning process. By communicating with the body in a conscious and fully connected way touching the body touches the soul.
We believe that by touching the body consciously the transformation of an entire being occurs and ripples out into the world. Our name encompasses our approach which honors the harmonizing of the whole: body, mind, and spirit in all aspects of our curriculum as well as our teaching modalities.
We are committed to training sensitive compassionate individuals who practice the massage technique with an artistry that profoundly touches the lives of others and brings lasting personal and professional fulfillment. For us touching the body…touches the soul.
Mastery of all artful movements, including sports, martial arts and dance, requires learning the proper form. The IPSB style (TM), derived from the ancient art form known as Tai Chi Chuan, is one that engages the core, the entire physical body and the life force energy that animates all living things.
YOUR UNIQUE VOICE
Along with a diverse range of technical massage skills and sound body mechanics, at LEI you will learn to trust your intuitive voice to feel confident with working with clients upon graduation.
There are a myriad of opportunities available to our graduates. Since the body/mind connection is being widely recognized as the key to health, holistic body therapists are being added as a component to many healthcare pro-grams. Doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists, health clubs and spas are now utilizing massage therapists to provide massage therapy in conjunction with the services they offer. Our graduates have also found employment as:
